Perambalur is one of the most backward districts of Tamilnadu. Perambalur is a small town with lot of poor floating population. People here make a meager living basically by agricultural labor. The paying capacity of patients from this region is extremely low. But money shouldn’t be a barrier to quality healthcare. People needed quality Medicare at an affordable price.
With this in mind Dr.venkatesan hospital was started in 1992 with 4 beds in the centre of Perambalur town bazaar by Dr.venkatesan D.A. when healthcare facilities were scarce in the town. Gradually labor room and Operation theatre were added.
In 1997 the new hospital building was started at the present location with 16 beds. First annex with 18 beds was added in 2004. The second annex with 6 beds second operation theatre; labor room etc. was added in 2009. The urology and stone clinic are the first and the only one of their kind in the town.
The expenses for patients are one of the lowest in the state. Quality of treatment is at par with any of best equipped hospitals in the state.
Plans to expand the hospital with lithotripter, C-Arm, twin OT, blood bank, 24 hrs pharmacy and lab are underway.
